Green by Nature
Kitchens Etc. prides itself on its efforts to help the environment. The products we are putting into your home are eco friendly.

Finishes
Finishes are HAPs solvent free and VOC compliant. Stains are HAPs solvent free and VOC compliant or waterbourne. HAPs is a California standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants. VOC compliance is according to The Government of Canada notice of intent in October 2006 to reduce emissions of air pollutants. The proposed regulations are intended to reduce VOC emissions from automotive refinish coatings; architectural and industrial maintenance coatings; and consumer products.

Materials
All of our sheet goods are certified by the California Air Resource Board (CARB). This means they are among the most environmentally responsible building materials available today. They reduce the greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming by locking up the carbon dioxide naturally removed from the air by trees during their growing cycle.

Using wood actually removes carbon from the environment.

Our Motto is: "Reduce. Reuse. Recycle."

  • Using energy efficient technology and purchasing wood products in optimum dimensions to attain the highest yield possible.
  • Using only CARB certified products and materials.
  • Use of only HAPs solvent free and VOC-compliant products in our finishing operations to reduce the level of VOC’s released into the environment.
  • Incorporating environmental impact considerations into every new product decision.
  • Incorporating recycling efforts in every part of our company

Composite wood products refers to a family of engineered wood panels that includes particleboard, medium-density fiberboard (MDF), and hardboard.

Only about 63% of a tree can be used for solid lumber. But composite panels allow us to utilize more than 95% of every tree!

We aren't cutting more trees to make composite wood products. We're making better use of the ones we already have!
